Places We've Been:

We've been outside a lot enjoying the full spectrum of weather that comes to upstate NY (hot & humid, rainy, cool). We went to the other side of the Hudson and found a nice park called Philipstown Park with lots of soccer fields, a short trail to a scenic spot overlooking the Hudson, and some basketball courts surrounded by forest with a random boat on the sideline. We made second trip to Minnewaska State Park, and hiked a trail around a lake with some really great views. And we visited other places we've been to before, like Bear Mountain State Park and Hudson Highlands Nature Park, where we were visited by a gaggle of geese as seen in one of the videos below (Alex is not that interested in animals as you'll see). At the end of the month, we took an extended weekend for July 4th and came out to our house in Binghamton (more on that next month).

What Alex Is Up To:

Alex has been doing physical therapy one or two days a week now after his daily ABA clinic routine. There is a video of that below. He does excersizes there that kind of look like something you'd see at a dog show. He really likes it, and is sometimes very sad when he has to come home instead of physical therapy. They work on  things like catching and jumping that he doesn't normally do, and try to strengthen those muscles. He also has occupational therapy mixed into his ABA clinic, which we've done a bit of by Zoom during the pandemic. Sometimes when we are outside, Alex likes to pick at weeds and flowers. You'll see in some photos and videos a particular type of weed he likes to pick and carry around with him for some odd reason.  I found a box of John Deere trading cards on ebay from 1995 and so we let him open a pack of those every once in a while as a reward. He's not as excited about tractors as he used to be, but he still gets excited about some of the cards, particularly the riding lawn mower. I have enjoyed collecting them too and I got plastic sheets like I used to have when I collected baseball cards back in 1988.

What Becky and Rob Are Up To:

For the most part, our routines have stayed the same. Becky has been working a lot with the missionaries in her Relief Society calling and continues to see a couple clients for work. I continue mostly working from home for the time being, but also applying to a few jobs in the hopes of finding something that will allow me to work remotely or relocate more permanently to the Hudson Valley.

And that's about all we have to report this month!
